Features of Surge Protective Device:
- The core parts are metal oxide varistor (MOV), gas discharge tube (GDT) and temperature fuse with high discharge capacity and reliable quality. 
- High current capacity, low residual voltage, fast response time to over-voltage.
- Dynamic control disconnector can automatically cutoff the circuit from the power supply when the unit is failed. It will not affect the normal operation of the home appliances.

Operating Principle:

The protection circuit loop inside the power strip will release the over-current when the lightning or over-voltage enters through the power supply line. It will make the potential difference between the lines to keep almost unchanged. This unit will protect the home appliances and will substantially prolong their service lifetime. After the surge or over-voltage passes, the unit will recover to the normal operation status. The indicator on the product will show if the unit is failed or not.

Quadruple Protection Technologies:
The unit is composed of quadruple protection parts, metal oxide varistor (MOV), gas discharge tube (GDT), transient voltage suppresser diode (TVS) and temperature fuse.

Metal Oxide Varistor（MOV）
Varistor is non-linear resistors with the main composition of zinc oxide. The resistance value is huge when the circuit has no over-voltage. But the part will form a low-resistance shunt when the voltage is increased. The part has the electronic characteristics of high discharge capacity, low residual voltage, fast response time ( ≤10ˉ9 second) and no follow current. 

Gas Discharge Tube (GDT)
GDT is an arrangement of electrodes in a gas within a glass or ceramics envelope. When the voltage exceeds the breakdown voltage, the tube conducts, limiting the voltage across it. The part has the electronic characteristics of high discharge capacity, high insulated resistance, and low leakage current.

Transient Voltage Suppression Diode (TVS)
TVS diode is efficient protective component. The TVS diode responds in 10-12 second by shunting excess current when the induced voltage exceeds the avalanche breakdown potential. It is a clamping device, suppressing all over-voltages above its breakdown voltage. The part has the electronic characteristics of fast response, high transient power, low leakage current, low deviation of breakdown voltage, easily control clamping voltage, no damage limit, small size, and etc.

Temperature Fuse
Temperature fuse is composed of metal with low melting point. When the temperature of MOV reaches the breakdown level, the fuse will cutoff, and prevent from fire to protect the device.
    
KR08D-220V/10A uses quadruple protection technologies with three different over-voltage protective components and temperature fuse as the last safety barrier, to protect the product.

Maintenance:
This surge protective device is maintenance-free type, which with safe disconnector inside, when there is thermal caused by long duration time over-current through the surge protector, the disconnector will operate, and assure safety of surge protector. When the disconnector operates, the situation below will come out:
The surge protection module of the surge protector will be cut off the circuit and take it from phase line, the surge protector will be failed, but it will not influence the operation of electrical appliance or equipment.

The working status indication light of the surge protector will be gone out.
Please change new surge protection module in time, to assure electrical equipment to be protected continuously.
